SOMALIA NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2020 to 2024
The Federal Government of Somalia presents the ninth National Development Plan (NDP-9), 2020-2024, which provides the nation with a path leading to economic growth and reduction of poverty within the next five years.
AGENDA 2063 IN SOMALIA
Agenda 2063 is Africa’s blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the continent’s strategic framework that aims to deliver on its goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
SOMALIA Voluntary National Review
The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) is privileged to present its first submission of the Voluntary National Review (VNR) report. Under the leadership and coordination of the Somalia National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS), the compilation of the VNR report followed an inclusive and participatory consultative process involving active contributions from civil society, women and youth groups, the private sector and the Federal level and Federal Member States (FMS) representatives.
Somali National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS) Launches the First Ever Somalia Integrated Household Budget Survey (SIHBS) Report
The Somalia National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS) conducted the first Somalia Integrated Household Budget Survey (SIHBS—2022) since 1985. Data collected through the SIHBS will be used to improve the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) estimates and for the compilation of the commodity basket and commodity weightings used in the construction of a new Consumer Price Index (CPI). Collection of consumer price data is critical for inflation measurement. Furthermore, the survey will serve as a baseline for a rapid monitoring system.
SOMALIA POVERTY REPORT 2023
Somalia has in place the Ninth National Development Plan (NDP-9), which envisages a five year (2020-2024) pathway towards economic emancipation and reduction of poverty in the country, hence serves as an Interim Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (IPRSP) within the framework of the Highly Indebted Poor Country (HIPC) initiative. Satisfactory implementation of the poverty reduction strategy will trigger the completion point of debt relief for Somalia.
Somalia Gross Domestic Product Report 2022
This publication provides Somalia’s annual national accounts for the year 2022 which is the main focus, showing the annual GDP estimates from the expenditure approach at current and constant 2022 prices. All estimates are calculated in accordance with the international standards contained in the System of National Accounts, 2008.
WOMEN AND MEN IN SOMALIA- 2nd Edition
The second edition of the booklet “Women and Men in Somalia” produced by the Somali National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS). The statistics show the situation of women and men in many different areas of life. By making the situation for women and men more visible, the statistics can contribute to the ongoing development in Somalia.
First User Satisfaction Survey Report
User satisfaction survey is aimed at understanding the overall satisfactions of the different users of official statistics produced by Somalia’s national statistics system, especially the Somalia National Bureau of Statistics. The purpose of this user satisfaction survey was to assess the quality, satisfaction, usage, coverage, sources, awareness, accessibility, demand responsiveness, and the trustworthiness of official statistics produced by the NSS of Somalia and to find the obstacles and challenges that the data users experience while finding information.

The Labour Force Survey Report 2019
The National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS) has the pleasure in releasing the Somali Labour Force Survey (LFS) which presents the findings of the LFS 2019 undertaken by SNBS in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Social Services. The main objective of the LFS is to collect basic statistics on the labour force situation in Somalia and make labour statistics available to the federal government, the private sector, and the general public for making decisions that aim at improving the employment situation of Somalis.

Somalia Facts and Figures Booklet provides important socio-economic statistics as well as development indicators of the Federal Republic of Somalia for the year 2020. The booklet acts as a centralized reference point for all facts and figures for Somalia hence guides decision makers and stakeholders to Somalia’s economy through reliable statistics compiled annually by the Somalia National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS) covering all sectors as well as reflecting on the various trends over the previous years. The National Bureau of Statistics is committed to the production and dissemination of integrated statistical information that meets the international standards quality requirements.
The Fourth Quarterly Statistical Bulletin 2021
The Quarterly Statistical Bulletin provides the main socio-economic changes based on estimates provided by different government agencies that show the impact of statistical activities. It includes data on trade, Inflation, exchange rates, Remittance, and Covid-19. The Somali National Bureau of Statistics made a great effort to design and produce the statistical bulletin to meet the rapidly increasing requirements of policymakers, researchers, and other data users in the public and private sectors. The Bureau is committed to the production and dissemination of integrated statistical information that meets the international standards quality requirements.
Hirshabelle Health And Demographic Survey (HSHDS) Report 2021
The Hirshabelle Health and Demographic Survey (HSHDS) report was realized with the commitment and dedication of various organizations who partnered and worked together, as well as individuals who spent their time to ensure the Hirshabelle state report was achieved. The Somali National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS), and the Ministry of Health of the Federal Government of Somalia, together with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Planning, Investment and International Cooperation of Hirshabelle State, took the lead role in ensuring all stages of the survey were carried out accordingly and with this stated, we would like to acknowledge the experts and the leadership of both institutions.
Benadir Regional Report 2020, Somali Health And Demographic Survey (SHDS)
The report findings will enable the Benadir Regional Administration as well as the Federal Government of Somalia to monitor their respective sectors in Somalia’s National Development Plans, including those relating to improving the lives of women, children and the overall health of Benadir’s population. It presents more than just numbers—offering valuable information to the Federal Government of Somalia and our partners to strive at all levels to promote universal access to reproductive health care and rights.

The Galmudug Health and Demographic Survey (GMHDS) report was realized with the commitment and dedication of various joint organizations who partnered and worked together, as well as individuals who spent their time to ensure the Galmudug state report was achieved. The Somali National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS), and the Ministry of Health of the Federal Government of Somalia together with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation (MoPEDIC) of Galmudug State took the lead role in ensuring all stages of the survey were carried out accordingly and with this stated, we would like to acknowledge the experts and the leadership of both institutions.
